Federation Intrepid class scout, Starfleet registry NCC-74662.  Starship Mariner was under the command of Frederick Patterson in 2372.  She was part of Task Force Gamma Two under the command of Fleet Admiral Robert Lyon on a covert patrol mission in the Gamma Quadrant, and played a vital role in the battle of Semtar III.  Starship Mariner was named for the ancient Earth space probe Mariner.  Her dedication motto is "Touch not the cat bot a glove."
