S'Quid TaiSeptaric

Page history last edited by Chris Stephenson 15 years, 3 months ago

S'Quid Tai Septaric was the first Klingon captain of a Federation starship, the Sovereign-Class U.S.S. Maximillian NCC-74997

While she excelled in her studies in the Klingon Academy, she quickly tired of the race's warlike ways, frequently outspoken on needing to find new ways to win the day and to find honor that did not involve bloodshed.  This was to the chagrin of her family, most notably her brother Kragnar, who swore an oath on their mother's deathbed to look after his sister.  While she knew this would limit her advancement among her fellow Klingons, she found an outlet within the Federation.  While the Klingons were not members, they participated in a exchange program that benefitted both their fleets.  Septaric served aboard the Maximillian for quite a few years, making a name for herself in many areas.  When Captain Tamak lost the captaincy and the Maximillian was recalled out of the Menkare Expanse, Septaric was encouraged to put her hat in the ring for the Captaincy, as the Maximillian had a long tradition, supported by Admiral Robert Lyon, of choosing their own Captains, unlike the rest of the fleet.  It was a surprise to her, and to Lyon, that she was selected.

Her first mission was to reandevous with the invading Marconian spacecraft.  Septaric found that it was heading to Earth, and met with heavy resistance from both Admiral Lyon and Kragnar when it came to dealing with the vessel, as she believed that an olive branch of diplomacy needed to be extended.  Lyon disagreed, and removed her from command shortly before the vessel attacked a Gorn homeworld.  During the ensuing battle, despite their disagreement, Septaric threw herself into Lyon to push him out of the way of an exploding console.  She took the explosion full on, and died instantly.
