James-Lyon

Page history last edited by Chris Stephenson 15 years, 2 months ago

(2353-2374)  Son of Joshua Lyon, and grandson of Robert S. Lyon III.  James Lyon's life was a hard one to say the least.  James Lyon was born on June 13, 2353 to Joshua and Christa Lyon on Starbase 3, homeport to starship Roosevelt.  Joshua was a Starfleet officer, and Christa was a civilian engineer.  James was loved by his parents, though admittedly, he never really knew his father well.  He was fascinated by starships, and eventually wanted to join Starfleet.  During his early life, he resented his grandfather Robert--a man who he had never met.  This trait was something he picked up from his father and grandmother.

When the Roosevelt was reassigned to the Sol sector in 2359, James and his mother moved to Earth.  His life was carefree until he was fourteen.  It was January of 2367 when the Borg invaded, and he remembered his father said that he would be home in a few weeks when his ship received orders to deploy from Spacedock to Wolf 359.  The following week, a Starfleet officer from Starfleet Command arrived at their home in San Francisco.  The news of Joshua's death was a terrible blow to James and his mother.  Months later, his mother Christa was killed during an accident at the power plant she worked at outside of the San Francisco area.  Because James never met Robert, his sole surviving grandfather, and that James had no love for him, he moved to his grandmother Helen Lyon's home to live.  He stayed there for three years, during which time his rage against alien invaders such as the Borg grew stronger.  In 2370, Lyon announced his intent to join Starfleet to his grandmother, who was vehemently against the idea.

Starfleet Career:  James Lyon entered Starfleet Academy in 2370, and when he graduated from the academy in 2374, he volunteered for interceptor duty.  There, he became the executive officer of the USS Palomino, a small, Peregrine class interceptor, manned by two officers and three enlisted personnel.  When Fleet Admiral Robert Lyon discovered that James Lyon, his grandson, was assigned to his command, he went out to the interceptor docks to meet him.  Like the meeting with his son Joshua, it was both awkward and somewhat hostile, but they soon got along.  Two weeks later, on stardate 51544.3, the Palomino was destroyed with all hands while performing a torpedo run against a Dominion warship during the battle to retake Cygnet XIV.  All hands, including James, were killed.
